Birth Doula Services


As a birth doula, I accompany women in labor to help ensure a satisfying birth experience.  I have been trained and certified by DONA International.  I draw on my professional training, knowledge, and experience to provide emotional support, physical comfort, and if needed facilitate communication with your birth team to make sure that you have the information you need to make informed decisions as they arise in labor.  I can provide reassurance and perspective to you and your partner, make suggestions for labor progress, and help with relaxation, massage, positioning, and other techniques for comfort.

Birth doula services include:
  • A free initial interview where we will discuss what a doula does and does not do, and go over my contract.
  • 2 prenatal meetings to get to know one another.
  • Help discerning your birth options.
  • Assistance in developing a birth plan.
  • Assistance in practicing comfort measures.
  • Access to community resources and my lending library.
  • Continuous physical and emotional support to you and your family throughout labor.
  • Breastfeeding assistance.
  • Generous phone support both before and after the birth.
  • At least one postpartum visit to answer your questions, assist with breastfeeding and newborn care, and admire your new little one!
  • Discount on all Roots and Wings Birth Services classes.
  • A car seat safety check.

I also have experience providing support at homebirths.

Fee: $650*.  A $200 non-refundable deposit is required at the contract signing to reserve your spot on my calendar.  The remainder of the fee is due at 37 weeks when I go on-call.
